Hi, my son has recently put a 'Powertec' Induction kit in his (heavily modded) Ford Ka 1.3 Duratec. It makes a really meaty sound and I've heard from experts that, coupled with a full sports de-cat exhaust, produces around 10-12 bhp, even on a car not so powerful. I'm no expert but he reckons it is far better then it's rivals as its stainless steel and apparently is much more free flowing. Hope that helps. I'm actually considering fishing for one myself to suit my Octavia vRS Turbo

A few things I got wrong- power of kit isn't actually that big, there is an increase which is mainly torque rather than BHP but this should correspond with what sort of exhaust system you have on the vehicle. An induction kit will make a bigger diference if you fit a free flowing cat-back exhaust and if you go into sports cats and manifolds you will be looking at even more power. A word of warning, don't simply go after the bigger power kits, you need one that is a good filter which in turn will keep your engine in good shape for longer. K & N Kits are meant to be the established benchmark for this although newer kits have since emerged, some of them proving better, others not. Pipercross may well be worth looking at, they are established and have a good reputation. If you have some dosh a Pipercross Viper Induction kit looks like a decent investment as the cold-air feed directly attaches onto the cone, unlike many other kits. They aren't cheap though, but they look like one of the better kits on the market.
