I went to www.mobile2mobile.net/ selected the phone from the menu and downloaded the software to unlock. The company supply unlock credits which cost me £9.99 to get my phone unlocked. I am usually VERY sceptical about online scams, but this unlocked the phone straight away just by running the softwre and connecting the phone to my laptop. This is the cheapest I have had so far. Alternatively email me on ironmaiden_wench@hotmail.com and I can provide a free unlock code which totally works, but is highly irritating (as you have to punch it in everytime you swtich the phone on). I couldn't say how reliable that is though or if it is damging. I'd rather spend the nine odd quid and have the phone working properly to be honest. Your call...

I hope this is true as I think I have been scammed. I paid for the remote unlocking, was supposed to have an email within 10 seconds. Nothing, sent them an email/customer service contact which said I would hear from them within 24 hours. 24 hours later and nothing, sent another email, going to have no choice on Monday but to stop the credit card payment if I don't hear from them, at least I still have the BlackBerry. Sad

I am quoting myself so all can see how this played out. While I was skeptical, I had an email first thing this morning with a copy of the original email to me for when I placed the order. I am not sure why I didn't get the first one, but there it was. Download and user names etc. Installed the sofware and after several hours finally got it to work, but that was because there was our company IT policy still on it (the BB) after doing a javaloader wipe which I had to remove and I had to use a home computer with the anti-virus and firewall turned off. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE AV AND FIREWALL TURNED OFF, I STRUGGLED TIME AND TIME AGAIN BECAUSE OF THESE, ALMOST TEMPTED TO UNINSTALL THEM TO GET THIS TO WORK. Finally had all things uninstalled, got the IT policy removed, and got the MEP code, unit unlocked!!! Their website had links to all needed information, just took time and reboots of the PC. Must say I was skeptical and thought I was scammed but now I can say these guys were excellent with their customer support and their information. Based on my one time experience, I would recommend these guys and am pleased to say my first post ended up being concerned for nothing. Just for the records, this was a 7290 locked on Vodacom in South Africa that I ended up unlocking!
