my dermatologist recommended me to use Meladerm for my brown acne spots. I have been using it for 1 month and the marks have faded 50%. I want to know how long it takes for the marks to disappear 100%. Can someone help me? This is the meladerm from the Civant company.

I am seeing good results with the meladerm. I just want to know how long it takes for complete fading. My doctor said to use it for 3 months but I wanted to see if people got results with it faster than that. I have been using for 1 month only and I am seeing that the spots have faded about 50%. I hope in 2 months they will be gone 100%.

I have used Meladerm for an entire $50 bottles worth. I used it religiously, twice a day. I have seen no visible results. I have had better results with the Oil of Olay Definity products, which are more reasonably priced. Crying or Very sad

Quote: null Hello, I am new to this forum. I am thinking of using meladerm for skin lightening. Does anyone know if it is approved by FDA. Do they have a store front, or have their products abailable in a drug store. There is no street address on their website. Just the post office addresses. They say that there is no hydroquionone in it which is good. How do we ensure that. If it is approved by FDA , that is reassuring. Any advice will be helpful. THaks, Mah

products like Meladerm arn't classified as drugs so there is no reason for it to be FDA approved. Its the same thing as Proactiv or all the other products by companies like Loreal, skinceuticals, L'Occitane, etc... none of these are actually "FDA approved".They might use FDA approved ingredients, but their actual product does not go through a FDA approval process. The only kinds of products that go through the FDA are new drugs, typically those that require a prescription or can only be sold OTC at a certain concentration. Some companies will claim that their product is "FDA approved" but in reality it's just that one of their ingredients has approval by the FDA to be used in consumer products. My guess is that Meladerm uses FDA approved ingredients. But in regards to actual product....all of the ingredients look very good and most have been proven to lighten the skin. From what I've seen, Meladerm does work for most people. But keep in mind that there is no "magic" cream that will work on everyone. My advice is that if you don't see results with Meladerm, then most likely you need to see a doctor since your condition probably needs special treatment.

    Thanks for your reply.
It has now been over 2 months that I have used meladerm. My experience says that it works slow, which is fine with me. It has faded some of my acne marks.

Hi mahrukhb, i too have been using meladerm for over 2 months. I feel it has worked on my acne brown marks (im asian) quite well on my left cheek although quite slow. I am now using it on some new pigmentation on my right cheek which I am hoping will also fade. Although I am not too sure if its the meladerm which has lightened it or the skins natural healing process (after all pigmentation is meant to fade unassisted anyway). I would like to ask you one thing, how do you apply meladerm? I was rubbing it in the affected areas but noticed that the skin around also lightened which gave a kind of uneven skin tone. Now I am trying to dab it in? Have fast did you see results and also do you think it caused any breakouts as you used it??
    Regards, Sid.

    Hello Sid99,
Thanks for your inquiry. I first apply a small amount on the affected area, and then a dab or two on each cheek and spread it all over my face including my forehead. This way you will not have an uneven skin tone. I did not notice the difference up untill 6 weeks after. My husband tells me that my skin looks even and there are no obvious acne marks.

I am so glad that forums like these exist so that we can help each other out.

Thanks for the quick reply, I have been using meladerm again for the some new pigmentation, seems to be fading faster now that im dabbing and applying carefully ONLY to the required area. But I can't be sure so I will be sure to repost in about 2 weeks time to let you know of my results.
