My girly wants to get a cat, however I want to get a dog, any ideas how I can persuade her to understand the merits of dogs! -

Cats are arrogant and you can't play with them.
Humans are pets for cats. Dogs love you 24/7. -

Cats walk themselves. They don't bark and annoy neighbours. Less of a tie. Don't make the house smell doggy. And they love playing! They will spend hours chasing ping pong balls and play with dangly objects! They don't drool around you when you're eating, whine all night when left downstairs or bite anyone badly. They are easy to litter train, and when their day is done they love to curl up on your lap snuggling into you. They don't lose hair as much as dogs (unless you get a Persian or something!) and usually leave your visitors alone! And they don't hump yours or anyone else's leg who enters your home!
I'm still with her!

Neither can some dogs!
So what sort of CAT does your girly want? Moggy or pedigree?

Persian? They need a lot of brushing every day! Even then they can still get matted! Now I can see your point! Look at Chocolate Burmese. Sleek, elegant, playful and very intelligent. Mine used to travel with me quite happily in the car. He would get under the duvet at night, head on pillow. And you can take them for walks like a little doggy!
