this is something that seems interesting to me.

i played a few Fender guitars and wasn't impressed at all. then i played some squier guitars and they are brilliant. i don't know what it is, but after saying i didn't like strats i ended up buying a Squier affinity strat for £108.50 brand new (yes i did get discount, because it was scratched). and now i want to buy a Squier standard tele... so what confuses me is that i seem to dislike Fender guitars and find Squier perfect.

so please post your opinion on which is better, squier or fender?

you can usually hear the quality difference tho. you get what you pay for, buy a cheap fender it'll play like a cheap fender, if your wanting to buy squires buy old and update..... back in the day they were made from genuine fender parts and really high quality, they were just factory rejects cos of imperfections.

i had a custom built fender made cos i was going on a uk tour, and the money i was paid for seeioning wasnt being spent as hotel and everything was paid for... and you can just feel and hear the quality, then again for 3000 id expect nothing less!!

In my opinion, getting what you pay for with guitars isn't always the case.

In fact, Lately Squier imports have been better quality than usual. I actually chose a £160 Squier strat over a £650 Fender, because i just preferred everything about it. it just seemed better quality. The fingerboard quality is outstanding, and even though the setup wasn't as great as the Fender strat, it took me all of 20 seconds to decide i was going to buy the Squier.

I don't know what it is exactly (and it's not the price) that makes me prefer Squier. It's a mystery.

In my opinion, Fender is better. Cant really say why, but i think that its much better to have a Fender than a Squier in your hands.
