Can anybody help? My 73 year old Aunt has a Phillips mobile phone. It is large and old. She keeps getting the message: M S I Failure, Please switch off . I don`t know what the message means, or how to fix it. She gets upset easily, and I have the task of finding out what the problem is - and fixing it!!
HELP! : -

We are having the same problem with a Philips phone that is numbered TCD308/TX inside the case. If you have solved the problem, please let us know. -

Yes the code means that it has been discontinued and cut off. I had to take my Aunt into the Shop to get it sorted out. They told me that I should have known, as the notice for disconection was in the newspapers. I had a bit of an argument, and pointed out that my Aunt did not read the papers, and that they sholud have given her written notice.. It was no use, but because I kicked up a stink, they offered her a new phone - at her own cost, with a £10 refund on her old one. Then I asked if she would get back the money she had left in calls, the assistant dissapeared into the back shop, and came out again to ask how much did I think she had left in the phone, I showed him the reciepts for both £20 & £15 top ups - she always kept every reciept, and he proceeded to go to the stores computer, typed in £20 and returned. I had a little smile on my face by then. My Aunt was a bit upset by it all. We left £39.99 lighter, but were pleased to have finally got through. to them. When my Aunt recieved her phone about a week later, she was told exactly how much she had left to spend on her phone - it was £14 49, and was given this on her new one.SO, go into the shop / Kick up a stink like me/ and remain silent, until they ask, or tell you what they can do for you.
Hope this helps!

Thanks Wilberry. The information will be useful in our approach to a shop. Unfortunately the shop where ours was bought no longer exists. -

We have now contacted O2 who tell us that they texted us, and published the cessation of service to these mobiles in newspapers. We did not get the text and didn't see the adverts!
We have to buy a new phone, but, as long as we buy another O2 service phone, they will credit our new pay as you go phone with the outstanding funds previously purchased - in our case some £85!

Hi, If you can get to an O2 store it would be better, as you can confront them face to face, and they dont like a fuss in the front shop.I know it has been some time since they put their notice in the paper, but just tell them the truth, that you only found out by this review. Good Luck!
