am i limited to size and make of hard drive for my toshiba sp4310

By size I guess you mean size of Laptop not Memory size or Sreen Size or Resolution....

But yes, most laptops come in under one size this is nothing to get depressed about and by the looks of it unless you looking for a percific size the toshiba sp4310 is a good sized laptop for an all rounder.

As for the Hard drive you could probably find someone special doing a deal with a different hard drive but for a standard toshiba sp4310 you will be looking at its standard hard drive which again seems very good for the laptop and once you have bought the toshiba sp4310 you could always sell the hard drive on if you are not happy with it and buy a different one. If you havnt bought the toshiba sp4310 and your not happy with the specs then simply buy look at a different laptop but if you are just asking if you can spec you own toshiba sp4310 then you would have to probably buy it of some one selling it privatly which would mean more money because most internet sites selling them would just do them standard if not all...
