    Who would win the cup?

Brazil, England, or Argentina? Maybe even Holland?

Not England thats for sure, the bookies must think it's Christmas when the World Cups in full swing, all the mugs thinking we can do it, The Sun telling us we can do it when in reality we need one young lad from a council estate in Merseyside to bail us out of the brown stuff in every game and when he's injured, well....we know what we did last summer. Sweet FA.

The Golden Generation? The Golden Shower more like.

I think that the main problem with the national side is their belief. We always hear messages from the England camp along the lines of "We have a great chance, great squad, etc." I wonder how many of the players actually believe that we can win it though. There must be a doubt in all the player's minds that something is going to go drastically wrong, like it always does.

I think if you look at the England first 11 you have a team that on its day is capable of defeating anybody in the world. I rate Robinson, we have a proven world class back four. Lampard and Gerard in the centre are amazing for their clubs. Wright-Phillips I think desperately needs to move clubs, the lad is a genius when given minutes on the football pitch. Rooney up front with whomever is on form at the time.

Hopefully at some point in my lifetime we will win the world cup again Smile

I plan on living forever mate Smile

I hear by the time I'm 60 they will of invented some sort of anti aging cream which actually de-ages your body. So by the time I'm 100 I'm banking on looking like I do now again Cool

This of course also means that in 70 years time Rooney can force his way back into the England setup!

Like Baddiel and Skinner once said........we still believe

Yeah Portugal are a good young side and will be more than likely there or there abouts for the next decade in the major competitions. They seem to like knocking us out of them also Sad I tend not to like Portuguese teams as the level of playacting they do is unreal. I tend not to like continental refs either as they seem to allow for it a lot of the time! Yet as soon as a boot goes above ground level they are the first to blow their whistles Confused

Saying that though this is a problem in England also. Take Emile Heskey's "non penalty" at Arsenal the other day. Anybody see it? Now surely if the ref doesn't give a penalty (which he didn't) then he should be booking Heskey for diving? It's either or in my opinion. As it turns out I think it was a definite penalty and Arsenal were lucky to get anything out of the game never mind a win, u can understand Paul Jewels reaction after the match.

Saying that though Micky I don't think we have had a lot go for us this season to be honest. There have been numerous occasions were a poor decision from the ref has cost us 3 points this season, only minor instances like giving a soft free kick which has led to a goal but still we haven't had much luck in that respect.

Not to mention the complete joke that was the FA Cup match Vs Pompey. Both Vidic and Larsson scored perfectly good goals only for both to be disallowed (Vidic was judged incorrectly not to of crossed the line and Larsson was wrongly ruled offside). We ended up winning 2-1 so didn't matter in the end but there might of been some uproar should we not of won. But that's football these things happen. We have been quite unlucky this season in all honesty. Dominated games only to come away with a point. With a bit of luck we'd be quite far ahead of Chelsea.

    Referring to the penalty decision?

Was a tricky one that. First time I saw it in real time I thought definite penalty no question. Then after when I saw the replay I thought hmmmm harsh!

The thing is with that one is that it didn't look like a dive. Normally when a player dives they go to ground funny and generally look stupid when it's replayed on TV. This wasn't the case though Ronaldo went down in stages as if he lost his footing. He is coming at pace and turns to avoid the keeper so losing his footing could quite easily of happened.

Tough one to call, either he genuinely lost his footing, or it was one of the best dives I've ever seen.

In any case it wasn't a penalty, but I lay no blame on the ref as in real time it looked stone wall.
