A Phone For Bulk Text Aplications... ????

Hello everyone…



I’m after some advice….



I basically have a phone which I only use for bulk messaging applications. (Or in other words sending a advertisement text to a group/groups of people)



Now I originally bought a Nokia 6230, with the intent on using the “send to group” option. But I have found out it’s basically rubbish for this application as you can only put about 20 numbers in a group, and only have about 10 groups on the phone. Now I could have lived with the 10 groups per phone, but I need to put a lot more than 20 numbers in one group and so I’ve ended up having to just send texts as normal since I got it.



Anyway its upgrade time and so I’m trying to see if I can sort the problem out by finding a phone more suited to the application.



I ether need a phone with a much more flexible capacity on the “send to group” option or even better would be a phone where I could just load up a list of numbers via my pc and send to that group. Or if nether of those are possible maybe a phone where I could just send a text to the whole phone book.



Has anyone got any advice on the best way to go?



I rang orange to ask their advice and the bloke that I spoke to seemed to think that a SPV C550 would solve all my problems and so he’s sent me one. However I thought before I open it all up and waste my time trying to figure out how it works and whether it’s any good for the job I’ll ask to see if anyone can give me any advice. (Because it wouldn’t surprise me if there just trying to fob me off with the phone that costs them the least money)



So… I dose anyone know if this will do the job or if there is a better one for the job out there, I’m used to Nokia’s so a Nokia would be great but its more important that it doest the job more than anything.



(Before anyone says… “why don’t you just use an internet based bulk text sending application like textforce.net or clicksms.co.uk”… it’s because sending 3000 texts a month through someone such as that costs me like £180 but on this orange contract it only costs me £20)
