I have recently bought a 1 year old mazda3 1.6D TS2 only owning it for two weeks and on two occasions have had a problem with the engine warning light being displayed and loss of power to the engine, but which was restored to normal after the car being turned off for a while. I took the car back to mazda to investigate the problem but which they could find no fault on the diagnostic report. I have read in two top car magazines that 1 or 2, 1.6 diesels have had turbo or engine problems, so decided to go onto their website to read their consumer reviews but which none were negative apart from one having trouble with airbag warning light. So wanted to know if anyone else has encountered the same problem as myself? -

Did you ever get to bottom of this problem?
I've recently been having the same experience with my 2005 1.6D TS2. Usually just after pulling away the car will cut out and come to an abrupt halt. Wait a minute or two and it starts and drives fine. A few days later it will do it again. I've had it on the diagnostic computer at my local Mazda dealers but they can't tell me what the problem is.
Typically this all started just after the car was out of warranty so looks like I could be facing a hefty repair bill. Especially as I don't trust the dealers technicians to make a swift and correct diagnosis.
Anyone got any ideas?
