From Scotland,
Hi,
I use SCP hair straighteners and have just invested in a pair of new pink ones from www.prettygorgeous.co.uk. I think they're everybit as good as GHD.
I read a few posts back about if you look after your GHD's they'll last years - well, I looked after both pairs of mine & they blew up on me, as did my mum's and my best friend's pair!!! Then Jemella (who make GHD) wanted £43 to repair them!!!
I know for a fact that GHD's cost less than £10 per pair to manufacture - you're just paying for their £12m per year advertising costs!!!!

I've just found the most amazing straighteners and as my hair tends to be frizzy I can sympathise. These are brand new into the UK and I found them on a web site called www.hairbargains.co.uk
Not only do they look great (being all white) but they emit ozone which helps to create super shiny, frizz free hair. I particularly like the fact that I can also use them to create curls and they are very lightweight. One other great little feature is that they come with a dual plug, which means no longer having to buy a travel pair.
These cost me £80 and I love them!!! -

Hopefully you will love them just as much as I do
Also if you email the site I mentioned
www.hairbargains.co.uk they are really good at responding to hair care issues as the guy who runs it is a professional stylist
let me know how you get on! -

Hiya
I still think GHD are the best - it was the old model that had the problem of blowing up - you can't buy that one any more. I have had mine for a while now, and they are better than anything I have tried before and my hair is crazy curly! i got them from a really good website where they were a good price which is http://www.greathairdirect.com i know they are more expensive than others you can buy, but i think it is cos they are the best ones ! i have had so many different pairs, and now i have my ghds i wont have to use anything else!
hope you get something that sorts your hair out - i would go for ghds!!!

Poker straight hair is no longer fashionable. It is too tempting for someone with frizzy wavy or curly hair to try straightening it. Frizzy wavy or curly hair is usually more dry and brittle than straight hair, therefore can easily become heat damaged with straightening irons of any sort. It is also extremely time consuming forever straightening hair that really doesn't want to be straight! And then when you go out in the rain it just does its own thing! Quite honestly, if you have naturally kinked hair you are better off looking for products that helps define waves and curls, and it looks so much nicer than straight hair. Straightening my hair ruined the condition of it. I am still trying to sort it out as it is long and has to gradually be cut out now. Since I stopped using straighteners my hair has become much better condition. I use John Frieda Frizz Ease, Shampoo, Conditioner, serum and Dream Curls curl perfecter. If it is damp weather I also spray it lightly. No more fear of going out in the rain. No more endless hours in front the mirror straightening it. All I straighten now is my fringe. I am free!!!

I have used this product called "Frizz ease" in the past for frizzy hair. Mine is not too frizzy though, I am not sure how well it works for super frizzy hair. But you can give it a shot, I thik it costs around $4 - $ 5.

I find using a leave in conditioner every so often helps keep the frizz away as well.
P.s Mummyu, do you work for o3 ozone because if you don't have you ever thought of approaching them and becoming a writer for them, cause just noticed that most of your posts advertise that hair straightener. They should be paying you for all the free advertising..Ha ha
