MP3 Players: Substance & Style

When I look around for an MP3 player, I look for two main broadstrokes: Substance & Style.

Some might say that that's a tad superficial but if I'm going to spend some hard earned dosh, its substance has got to match up to its style and likewise, the latter to the former. Don't want to be pulling out some mongrel of a player that makes the most beautiful sound and looks like some sick pug.

Which is when I came across Samsung's YP-Z5F. I've got a feeling that apple fans out there are giving me the finger already - but hang on a minute, take another look (and by the way, I own one of those white little things as well).

I have to admit, it's the little black four edged capsule that grabbed my attention - sleek and beautiful in that pool of blackness little casing, however when I played the tunes on that little devil, it ripped. And when i say ripped, I mean rocked!

Surround sound wasn't just it. Brilliant surround sound quality and an in-built radio to play runner-up when the tunes failed to peak my interests. On top of that, 35 hour battery play and Samsung really outdid itself cause despite the multiple grazes against rough surfaces (such as the steps leading up to my building) it still looks like I just took it out of its tiny box.

Have a lookie at this site I found when searching up my newest toy: www.blackseduction.sg

Let me know your thoughts cause I wouldn't want to wax lyrical about this little black nugget of gold.

    From London,

When my iPod nano black died recently I hunted high and low for something as cool, that would last longer than 2 months. I have to admit that the YP-Z5F was the only one I found that competed on looks with the iPod. There's clearly been some Apple influence in the design but it still looks great. My Nano is now repaired and finally showing some reliability....nonetheless if it goes again I will be going for the Samsung without a doubt.

See, that's the thing about the samsung that I was so drawned to. Honestly, I've looked and fiddled around with so many other players and the buttons along the side and everywhere else are just so annoying - then there are those with "cool" patterns on them which honestly, look like some freshie from arts 101 came up with.

I'm with the whole "less is best" when it comes to techy designs.

Hope your player lives to a ripe old age, if not, I think a new one might be in order.

    Cheers.

To be honest this looks very good-something I'd be very interested in buying.

I'm having trouble with my Sony Mp3 player-or rather the rotten software you HAVE to use! I didn't know when I bought this player that you have to use it's own software-which Sony have upgraded and still crashes my pc! I in all honestly thought it would take any mp3 track/album by dragging and dropping, or at least have some half decent software. but no. So as their new software isn't working with my tracks or player, the player's going back.

But this little beaut looks just the job. The only thing is I don't know how much it costs or if you've got to use certain software to transfer mp3's?
