I've had a pair of 'UKHairdressers' straighteners for about 3/4 years. I'm an occasional user but have long thick bushy hair.
The UKHs were straighteners I bought from a website (they don't seem to be available anymore) which were as good as GHDs (believe me - my housemate had GHDs I bought mine to compare to them and if they'd been a bit pants then I would have sent them back). They were around £70 when i bought them.
This morning I went to turn them on and got no response so I’m guessing it's time for a new pair (i will keep an eye on them in case they start working again).
I can pretty much afford up to £100 but i'm not sure that GHDs are the best around particularly as my housemate's broke after 5 months (they were replaced) then again after another 7 months. What i want is GHD quality that'll last for 3ish years.
Looking around here I guess the options are T3 or GHD maybe but if anybody else has any recommendations (particularly on how long your straighteners have lasted then I would appreciate it very much.
Hurrah for straight and shiny hair

I would go with the T3. I have heard and seen great things from this brand professionally speaking.Always remember to protect your hair with products before using any heated tool..... I always say try to have a least 3 products in your hair before you use a flat iron.

Hi, please please please could someone help with answering this question.... i recently bought some ghd professional straighteners and kinda need to know if they are solid ceramic or ceramic plated? I use them everyday and dont want the ceramic to wear off if they are only plated!! Thanks so much!
