1998 Civic LX 1.3L SOHC

Car has 72,000 miles. At 42,000 I had timing belt replaced due to engine failure. Ran perfect for last 30,000. Now vehicle started and died immediately. So far, repair shop has determined no compression in 2 cylinders and half in a third one. They are taking off head today for a look. They think possible bent valves and they say timing is OK. Any ideas as to what I am facing?
