myC4-2 needz help!

    Hi,



    My son has a Sagem myC4-2 and he has recently bought a data cable from the internet and it didn't come with software CD.



    The instructions that came with the cable tell him to go to some links and download/install from there.



    The problem is that it doesn't work and I've been searching high and low for answers without any luck.



    Firstly, MPAS tells him that his phone is not compatible?????



    Secondly, when he downloads the USB-Serial Driver file and plugs in in his data cable, the Found New Hardware Wizard when pointed to the folder containing the driver, returns and tells him that the Hardware installation cannot proceed because the Software cannot be found.



    Now, the software I take it is the MPAS_7_12 which is also sitting in the same folder as the driver, so this is very confusing indeed!



    The cable specs are:



    Model: KQ-U8A

    No : WT048000317



    We went into town to a PhoneZone place and they also couldn't get it to work with their own cable.



    So, the phone is not compatible according to the MPAS.....



    I don't have much hair left so somebody hopefully will intervene and provide some sanity into what is a very insane parody (for a complete newbie, that is! )

    HI, I have a simul;ar prob but when I connect with the same cable as you the mpas v7.12 regognises the phone. But when I go to select a transfer direction or anything it says connection lost reconnect which only sends the same error agaion. The driver I used was from the link from the seller too but Ive tried to access planetsagem tools about 15 times and only got in once. That stupid plugin request is a joke, cant get past it no matter how many times I install it. Anyway I would like to know if you do get you data cable working so please give me a bell and Ill do the same. Cheers.

    I used to have the same problem with my MYC4-2 when using a cable bought cheaply on the internet (www.datakits.co.uk). I had to resort finally to buying a genuine cable from www.sagemonline.com. Sadly, it cost about 3 timesas much as the Datakits cable (which is undoubtedly the same as the one sold by numerous vendors on ebay and the internet in general) but at least it works without a problem.
