Disappearing Credit

A short while ago (a week) I purchased from a local shop a Vodaphone Sagem MYX-4 with £10 of credit added to the free £1 already on the sim. I checked the credit line on leaving the shop and there was £10.90 credit on the phone. I wanted the phone unlocked so that I could use my Orange Sim on the Sagem and I would then use the vodaphone in my Panasonic G60 (already unlocked). I intend to use the Vodaphone for the better coverage when I touring Scotland but use my contract Orange for everyday use (it's on a Virgin value tariff and dead cheap). I took the Sagem to a local market stall to be unlocked he said it would be back in a couple of days and gave me the Sim card back as he said he didn't need it. The phone came back OK and I was happy with it. I put the Vodafone Pay as you go sim in my Panasonic G60 and checked the credit £10.90. That was last Wednesday afternoon 16th November. I come to check my phone today (19th)and lo & behold all the credit has gone. The phone has not left my possession nor is there any record of any calls logged on the phone. I ring Vodafone and they say the call credit was used in a single call at 00.15am on the Thursday morning to a number not even stored in the memory and with no call record, to a number 077129 ... they wouldn't give me the rest of the number. The number would have to have been physically entered of course, not being pre-stored (so no speed dial accident is possible. My question is .... given that there is absolutely no chance of anyone else using my phone, especially at that time, as there is only myself and my wife in the house and the phone was stuck to my bed head, and we were both reading a book each. Is it possible for the person who unlocked the phone to extact any information from it to enable him to use my credit. If not, has anyone else had similar problems with Vodafone as I'm banging my head against a brick wall with them. They insinuate that I MUST have made the call though they can't explain the lack of call log on either phone so someone must have crept into my house (alarmed), then into my bedroom, remove the sim card from the phone, use the credit and then replace the sim card back in the phone!!!! Resourceful burglar hey! Strange they didn't take anything else! They are adamant that there is absolutely no method of using that credit other than physically using that sim card to make a call. Does anyone know different?
