    YES!!

I have purchased two Civics, brand new, and loved them both. The 91 I sold after 3 years and the 95 I still own. By sheer coincidence the transmission on the 95 went bad TODAY, more than a year after I was told to replace it, so I may be looking at a 2006! I still got more than my money's worth from this car I've owned for over 11 years.

The Civic is economical as well as safe, dependable, fun to drive, good for hauling stuff around, (with the fold down back seat), and easy to maintain. It's a great car in which to teach someone how to drive, change a tire, check the oil etc. Reading the manual with a "newbie" as part of their "first car experience" is easy and fun as it is well written and very informative, without being wordy.

I have taught two former girlfriends to drive (and all the rest of the above) on my two new Honda Civics. I researched Consumer Reports, studied for a week and test drove several cars both times before buying the Civic. I think it is the ONLY first car to buy at that price range... and even over much higher priced cars too. Hope your experiences are as positive as mine.
