Hi there!
I'm sorry about your experience with N-Lite, but thankfully the worst stage is over, the next step now is dealing with the scars, which requires a lot of patience and perseverance, no quick fix here im afraid! I purchased my Bio-Oil from an independent chemist, but Boots, Superdrugs and other pharmacies stock it too. It was on offer in Boots for £7.45 (60ml, RRP £8.95) 2 weeks ago (that was a week after i'd just bought it!
LOL) so check around. Otherwise you can buy it online from:
www.expresschemist.co.uk or www.supplement-supplier.com
For more product info go to www.bio-oil.info and as for whether you can use it whilst your on Accutane, im sorry but im not qualified to say, best to check with whoever's prescribing it to you. Hope this helps and if you do decide to try Bio-Oil, let me know how you get on with it.
im now looking into possibly having chemical peels for the scaring too, which cost around £175 a session. when i went for a consultation in the Harley Street Clinic they said i may need 4, which would set me back £700!, so im sticking to the Bio-Oil in the mean time, if anybody has any info or experiances on peels for acne scarring, please do let me know, thanks! -

Hiya every1!
BIO-OIL (costs around £8.95 for small bottle),
,
Where do I get this BIO-OIL, is it a brand or a store?? Also thanks for all the info & I'm so happy NLITE worked for you, my acne is not bad at all anymore but the NLITE gave me more scars & damaged my skin terribly. Do you think it would be okay to use BIO-OIL on Accuane, I'm starting that April 20th. -

By the way, N-Lite shouldn't be used if you have cystic spots, thats what i was told on my consultation, i had pus-filled spots, which was compatible with the N-Lite treatment, hope this distiction helps! sabina -

Hiya every1!
well im quite suprised, i have to say about the negative experiances with N-Lite (Harley Street Clinic). Mine has been quite the contrary, 2 months on and my face is i'd say about 98% better then what it was, but then again, my acne was very sudden, i'd only suffered 3 months prior to having the treatment, but it was extremely severe, (i'VE got the pictures to prove it, which were taken when i was in an all time low!) I am now left with red scarring and some pitting on my cheeks, which are smoothing out, but I'm not sure whether thats due to the N-Lite slowly boosting the collagen in my skin or BIO-OIL (costs around £8.95 for small bottle), which contains vitamin A and E. I've been using this on my scarring for 3 weeks now and i've already seen the texture of my skin improve, and even though it's an oil, it absorbs into the skin and hasn't caused newer spots to form. Several people reccomended Bio-Oil to me, both those with acne scarring and deeper scars, a friend of mine had a deep scar on her chin from a car accident and its completely dissapeared after using Bio-Oil for a month!.
well i hope this helps in your decision making, probably best to determine if your acne is due to a skin infection (like mine), or hormonal, where dianate or roaccutane would probably be more helpful rather then N-Lite, -

Do you know it's funny you should say that, I tried Dianette for six months and had to quit it because of migranes and nausea. I felt very low, the slightest thing would trigger these symptoms and I think now you mention it was probably depression.
Clinique is good, there perfectly-balanced foundation is great, good for those spotty days. Try herbal acne tablets, from boots.
Botanics range is excellent the skin-brightening cleanser and toner. I haven't washed my face (not literally) for ages because I found that it made my skin dry and spotty and red and patchy!!
yuck!!

Hi everybody
Just wanted to add a word of caution about Dianette. Yes, it is a very effective treatment for acne - I was put on it by my GP when I was 19 (I'm now 34), and was on it for about 6 years, during which time my skin cleared up totally. I then went onto other forms of contraceptive pills, which were not quite as good but kept my skin generally under control. HOWEVER - I was also diagnosed with severe depression in my early twenties, to the extent that I had to spend a while in hospital, and have been on antidepressants ever since. It was only in the past couple of years that I began to read about a link being made by the medical profession between Dianette and depression (this reported in British broadsheet newspapers, not just crazy internet stuff). Now I can't say that the Dianette definitely caused my problems, but it seems like quite a coincidence that just after I began taking it I was very depressed. I do realise just how awful and debilitating acne can be - mine wasn't even that severe and it made me miserable, but NOTHING, no amount of clear skin, could ever make up for the fact that most of my adult life has been spent battling clinical depression, and it there is any connection between the two, Dianette should be off the shelves. I'm still trying to sort out my skin - come off the Pill now as I want to start trying for a baby after I get married in October, and the spots are back! Clinique Anti-blemish soap quite good, and drinking lots of water. Good luck. -

HELLO!
thanks for the advice about acne.org will definitely visit that one. I'm glad i found this forum it's spot on!! (sorry). Can I recommend a seemingly good Tea Tree Oil lotion for scars, apart from the fact it seems to be treating my spots, it's also very soothing on my face. Like most my skin looks worst when I've had a bad night, eaten crappy food for a week, it looks dull and feels itchy, but the Tea tree oil is soothing and it doesn't cost a lot either. I ALSO am trying these ACNE alternative tablets that contain burdock again early days at the moment but I feel better already just for taking them. The reason i asked if you wear make-up, is because I'm trying to cut down on the days I wear make-up, my boyfriend insists that I don't need it!! But I beg to differ, anyway there are lots of advantages to NOT wearing make-up, even just NOT wearing it every day. I think anyway....... -

Paul,
The best thing to do is talk to people who actually had the particular procedure done rather than from a biased website---for the most part they are all biased. ACNE.ORG is a good place to start, where thousands of people post on their experiences with various treatments & medicines, etc.
Best of luck! -

thanks for your reply!
the n-lite just made my skin worse. when i went back for my second dose i told them this and they just said 'it sometimes gets worse before it gets better......or it could just not work for you!'. that's the first they'd told me that it could not work. i think you're right....my scars are alot worse since then. i had my treatment about a year ago in harley street. i was going to have the peel afterwards but wanted to get my acne sorted once and for all first!
have you been on acutane before? it's a miricale worker. it helped me get over my worst acne when i was 15. i wanted to go on it now but the dermatologists i've seen have said it's not severe enough! good luck with that....i think you will be very happy with the results.
my homeopath gives me a variety of remedies for my skin....to help my spots and scars. she has also helped my sleep and my general well-being as homeopaths claim to treat the person rather than just the problem.
