Hey i been using 'loreal paris - true match' minerals... ts so good it gives a foundation like coverage but looks and acts just liker a powder form. It is s light and instantly when applied doesnt even feel like u r wearing it my pores r always breathing when i wear this and i am really comfortable with using it. I wouldnt use anythign else, clinque i have heard is not very good its so expensive and doesnt even do what u want i to, the one i use is £15 so its not too much at all. Great buy for what u get. It really adapts t skin tone too, ive never come across make up that actually does this b4.

I too used roaccutaine etc and it has VERY bad side effects it scared me and changed me as a person i also had huge cold sores attached to both sides of my lips.. never again! Harley street in london is the best place to go for treatment it really works obagi bue peels will instantly remove scarring as it peels ur skin and itches of within days, they als use a different laser ... the n lite is like an underdog cheapy version, i am hoping to save up and pay a visit and finally get myself sorted. Good luck to u all !

Hello, I've just had an NLITE treatment today, and have two more booked over the next few weeks. I had it at The Private Clinic two years ago, after suffering from acne since I was about 14. I'm now 22, and since I was about 18, the spots started to leave scars. I'm not sure if it's because I'm getting older and my skin won't heal as well?

The first time I went to The Private Clinic, I had 3 treatments over Christmas and new year. By Easter my scars had all gone except one (the only one where it's not just a dip, but is white at the bottom). My skin usually clears quite a bit in the Spring, and I'm not sure if it was the laser or the Dianette kicking in after 6 months. But the scars are my biggest worry and it improved them a lot. I did get worse skin after the third and most powerful treatment, along with some bruising for a week or two, but after a couple of months my skin stayed much better until the following November/December.

That winter I could only afford one treatment and I don't think it did much, so I have just gone somewhere cheaper for my first of this three treatments, then will have the next two at The Private Clinic again.

Has anyone else had successful treatmets? There seem to be a lot of negative reactions, and I'm hoping that if it worked for me the first time, it'll work again. I have pale skin and moderate acne, so I think I tick all the boxes for who it's supposed to work for.

Also if anyone has any advice about scarring I would be extremely grateful. It's mainly happening on one cheek, and whereas you can cover spots with makeup and the knowlege they'll go, scars are so much worse!

Hi, all! Like a lot of people on this forum, I've suffered with acne since I was about 13. 13 years later, at the age of 26, I still get breakouts, especially when I'm stressed or on my period. I went on Dianette when I was 17, which really helped, but my doctor took me off it about 5 years later. I am now back on Dianette again, and after two months I've noticed a real improvement.

I had some NLite treatment at a clinic yesterday to help with my acne scars, but after reading some of the comments here, I'm a pretty worried! Sad At the moment, the areas that have been zapped with the laser are an awful purple colour, and my usual foundation isn't covering it too well. It's as if my chin and forehead have been attacked my a swarm of angry bees!!

Can someone please tell me how long it will take for the 'bruising' to die down? I am flying out to Thailand this weekend, which is going to be hot and sticky, and I think my concealer is just going to slide off my face to reveal the hideous purpleness beneath!

    Thanks!

Hello, the purple is good! It means they used a strong zap, so I think this means it'll be more effective. I too got purple bruises on the final treatment and yes I know they can't really be covered too well. They go down in a few days, under a week, so hopefully you'll be ok.

Thanks, Kate! Smile It's a relief that it's only going to be like this for a few more days (but I think I'm going to have to cake myself in makeup and invest in an oversized hat till then!)

Will have to let you all know how I get on with the NLite. Like I said, it was for my scars rather than the spots themselves, which have thankfully gone down since I went back on Dianette.

I initially found out about Nlite on This Morning
And after reading all you women/girls out there for whom this NLite clearly doesn't work I think we should go public with this and email this morning with our stories and let others know that N Lite can have disasterous effect on some skin types and also our lives.
When I was looking into Nlite, all I found was positive info about it & its about time this glossy, but inaccurate image was changed.

Come on what do you have to lose, send your messages and photos if you have to thismorning@itv.com

Hi there. I had a couse of 3 N-Lite treatments a couple of years ago. Initially I seemed to have fewer spots come up after each treatment, but since then my skin has gone back to how it was before (ie. no continued benefit). As a 48 year old who has had face, neck and chest acne and scarring since age 22, I was disappointed as I have tried lots of things over the years - Oxy 10 (makes me sore and bleaches clothes), Dianette, oral antibiotics, topical antibiotics, glycolic acid peels. Sadly the only thing that worked was pregnancy! (not really an option now!)

    Hello all,

I started to suffer from moderate acne when I was 25 and was prescribed Oxytracycline, this didn't seem to do much for me so was put on dianette which worked very well although I did still have the odd breakout. I was on dianette for approx 5 years and for the last 18mnths experienced problems with my periods so stopped taking it hoping that at 35 my acne may have subsided naturally by now! My skin really flared up and after 3mths of trying to battle it I went to the doctor and he suggested I try the Oxytracycline again suprise suprise this didn't work. I found out about nlite from the private clinic internet site and went along to a local clinic who offered it, they suggested a combination of microdermabrasion and nlite ( x 2) and mild pumpkin peels (x 2). I've had my first microdermabrasion and nlite and am going for my first peel in a couple of weeks time and havn't noticed any real improvement in my skin although the clinic have said it will be 3 mths before I do. After reading some of the previous posts I'm a bit worried I've wasted my money, nearly £1000 I cant afford although I'm trying to stay positive! In the meantime I've been to see a dermatologist through the NHS (after breaking down in tears in the doctors office, I think he couldn't understand what all the fuss was about). The dermatologist wants to put me on roaccutane after I finish the private treatments, which I'm very apprehensive and unsure about. I havn't been tested for PCOS and not sure if any drugs can help this type of acne? Please Please I'd love to hear from anyone who can offer any advice on their experiences with nlite/ roccutane as there dont seem to be any current posts.

    Hi,

I was prescribed roaccutane around 10 years ago, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I'm pretty sure it affected my eyesight, not to mention the general symptoms of nosebleeds, red skin, cracked lips etc and the link to depression that seems to be more and more worrying. I know how hard it is having bad skin and half the problem is we acne sufferers are already in a fragile state when we say yes to these drugs as we are willing to do anything to get rid of it...but I'm not sure Roaccutane is the answer.

At the end of the course my skin hadn't improved very much at all and I worry more about what it did to the rest of my body. I think having a PCOS test is probably worthwhile, I'm in my 30's now and stopped taking Dianette years ago, my skin is certainly not perfect but is a lot better. I monitor my diet (post years of antibiotics = leaky gut ) and try to use the most friendly skin products I can (non SLS, non parabens etc.) I also had a course of acupuncture a year ago. I'm not saying it will definitely work for you but I think it's worth trying other things before Roaccutane. People, for example your doctor, who have never had acne don't understand how awful it can be so I really sympathise & hope you find a better way to acne-free skin.
