Getting Married in a church

Me and my boyfriend have just got engaged. We want to have a summer wedding, but don't think we will have enough money for it to be next summer, so it is likely that we will get married in around June 2007. How far in advance should I book the church? A girl at work told me that I should think about doing it before Christmas because a lot of people propose then and often book up the churches for the summer the year after. Is this too early? I mean, it is about 19 months away.

I am a Wedding Planner and unless you are getting married in a church that is in extremely high demand. I would wait until you wedding is 12 months away.
