    Hi there

    Model - Peugeot 106 Quicksilver
    Ref - T
    i.4 Injection

Basically, a while back my car cut out on the motorway, so I took it to a garage and a part needed replacing in the fule pump. This was fixed and my car was driving fine. Then one day, I filled my car up with pertrol, drove it to London and 25 mins into the Journey my car starting sounding funny, jerking alot and not accelerating like it should. The the car kept reving hard over 4k and a K symbol came up a few times and my car kep cutting out and stopping. I had to get the RAC out to tow my car back home. I took it to a garage in the morning and it was running ok, the garage said nothing was wrong with it, no fault came up on their diagnostic machines. So I took it to my local Peugeot Garage in Maidenhead, Berkshire and they were useless, bad customer service, didn't even look at my car for a whole week. Peugeot are saying because nothing shows on their machines, there is no showing fault.
Can anyone suggest what to do, Peugeot are not helping me and don't know what is wrong.

hi there! this sounds much like the problem i had with my 1.4 106! after replacing the HT leads and fitting a new set of plugs i realised it was the coil pack that was split which was causing the problem. i picked a second hand one up from a scrapper for a tenner but dont pay more than 15 for a good one. also watch out as the torx screws are a pain to get out and are easily rounded off Sad

i dont think the fuel pressure is the problem, otherwise it would have been found at the peugeot dealership! i do have a problem with my fuel though! when the car is cold, if you floor it the power drops off then there is a surge of power after! its the same for my friends 1.1! i have no idea what it could be Confused

better get a corsa b Razz

NO!!! defo get a 106 if your looking at a 1.1 the 106's are really nippy! not fast obvo but they are great fun to drive, throw them into corners and so long as you have balls and are a fairly decent driver you can correct anything they throw at you! defo go for a 106 i love mine!!! big mods done and planned Very Happy

the only advice i give you is to try to get rid of it i have a 13 months old 206 and it's horribly bad and their service is even worse. My wife has another car .it's less expensive and performing well.i wont give you the name but be sure that peugeot206 is very bad

I have just bought a second hand Peugeot 1.1 and I think there is a problem with the accelerator. The accelerator pad is quite low and my foot is on the floor at 30mph and going up hills is a problem! Would anyone know what the problem is and if I can get it sorted out?!

yeah changing down a gear could help! if you dont have a rev counter then all you need to know is that is will do 30mph in first, 50 in second, 70 in third and 90 in 4th. if you find a very very big hill you might get 115 out of a 1.1 in 5th.lol ive got a 1.4 but fitted a 1.1 gearbox and it accelerates much faster!

    Hi,

i had the same problem with my 106 quiksilver. No garage could help. but it turned out it was the thermostat sending falce readings of Engine Temperature to the ECU. Try asking about getting your thermostat checked over. Cost me £130 altogether at Peugeot Dealers. Rip off merchants. But if youve got any diagnostic trouble with your car best off taking it to Pugs as they have all the upto date diag machinery for Peugeots.

Hi Frances, I had a similar problem but with an other car, car was sputtering cutting out and picking up again and it was gone the next moment and no faults could be found in the ECU memory and I was sent on my way as well only to be back again.

What happened was that in time and by vibration of the running car a wiring lume got cut by the chassis and caused a short circuit and by doing so resettled the ECU from any faults that might have been recorded.

I hope this information is of any use to you.
