I purchased a Sagem RC920 mobile phone in the UK, and have since moved to Australia, the phone will not work here, SOLELY. because it has been locked to the Vodafone UK network. Can any forum advisors help me out here, as to whether the phone can be reprogrammed? Are there any sites that users may be aware of to save be having to but a new phone, despite the fact that the same phone can be bought here at a ridiculous price. Thanks for any help

You can buy a prepaid starter kit from telstra for $25,

which contains a new SIM, ie. phone no, and $25 worth

of calls to be used over two months. I think they may

    do contract deals, too.

If you'd like to keep your old phone no ask any of the

networks here about their conditions. In theory it should

be possible to change the network and keep the old phone

    number

Hehe, nice idea, but that won't work either...the phone itself has been eprommed at the factory (or by the carrier, in my case Vodafone UK)I have had Vodafone (Australia) put a PAYG simcard in my phone in Perth, but the phone is locked to the UK network, yours will be locked to your network in Oz. Vodafone (Oz) can unlock mine for $150!, what a joke, Ive just bought a second hand nokia, which is off contract, so they can stick thier networks...sorry carnt help more
