Civc Aerodeck high brake light always on!

The hight brake light on my civic aerodeck VTI (great car) stays on when the main lights are switched on. The lower brake lights work fine. I've also noticed that when braking without the headlights on, the clock dims and the dashboard light come on. Has anyone had a similar problem or got any advice?

solved, I'd put the wrong sort of rear brake light in, one filament instead of two, which was causing some sort of back feed!!!
