Nikon D50 Advice

Does anyone have a Nikon D50? I am considering buying one as I have found one for a pretty good price. I have a Nikon film SLR, which I use alot and want to move to digital, but can't afford a D100. I have heard the D50 is quite basic, which I don't really need. Can you interchange digital SLR lenses onto a film camera body?
