    Hi,

My friend has a Vodafone mobile on an 18 month contract. Something within the screen has broken and now he cannot read messages or look through contacts as they are illegable.

He bought the mobile and took out the 18 month contract but it only had 1 years warranty. Vodafone have told him they cannot replace the phone as it's out of warranty but he cannot upgrade as they have told him that this can only be done within 60 days of the end of contract but this doesn't come into effect until January 06!!!

Does anyone have any idea on what he can do or try to get them to replace the phone? Are there any short cuts? Are Vodafone really just going to leave him with no phone and the possibiliy that he will take his custom elsewhere if he has to purchase a new phone!

if the phone is insured just ring up and say that the phone is lost and claim for a new one, or if you ring say that the phone is damaged and ask for a replacement C.I.D phone which is a refurbished fone. hope this helps
