My wedding is less than 3 weeks out and my wedding planner always seems to be 5 steps behind!! I thought that as the wedding drew closer she would get it together! Evertime I need something done, she has to be constantly reminded and pushed to push the vendors to complete my order. For example, I still do not have cake sketches as of today!!!!!!! I called her Friday about this and she said the order had been placed. WHAT?? I didn't even give her flavors, etc. I haven't even seen a contract?? I ordered bridesmaid luncheon invitations through her so that she could have a vendor get it together. It's two weeks later and she just asked me if I still need her to do this or if I wanted to do it. I'm a professional working woman who has hired a wedding planner for what?? I have no time to pick up her slack!! What should I do. I'm about to lose it!!

You could try Absolute Perfection Wedding Consultancy if your planner is no use. Alternatively, NAPWS, The Wedding Association if you want to source the best wedding services available.

    Dear Nervous Nelly,
I am a wedding planner, and I'm sorry your having such a bad experience with you wedding planner. She's giving us all a bad name. I think the best thing for you to do is if you have a contract with this woman, first go over it yourself and find out the terms if you cancel with her. If there is no way to get out of the contract without losing a lot of money, ask her for a brief consultation and take out your contract and go over the things with her she promised to provide you. Like stress free planning. Tell her it's very close to the wedding and you're not feeling very stress free.

Oh my godness! im so sorry that this is happening to you. Where are you getting married? Uk or abroad? i am a wedding planner in Cyprus if there is anything i could do or free advice i would love to help. I would tell her that if you do not see results in a few days then you will be taking your service else where and telling everyone you know not to use her. Maybe that might work. Otherwise dont wait and find someone new as this is the big day and you should entrust it to a professional. you certainly should not have these worrys.

Sounds like you got some bum luck, its important to interview several planners becasue not all of them are up to snuff. I went with Nu Designer Events and they did a spectacular job on mine. No doubt Chicago's best event planner. Miranda was super detailed and left nothing to chance.
