USA/UK compatible?

i am going to california next month and have seen that sony camcorders are much cheaper over there, does anyone know if they will work in the UK please?

hi im thinking of buying a panasonic minidv from e-bay . its being sold from america,will this camcorder work ok in the uk. will it play edit ok on my telly/computer. as i belive uk is pal and usa is nast or something like that..any help please.. .

do the previous questions and answer also apply to memory card camcorders?--------------or will they work and replay here in the U.K. (PAL system) if bought in the USA for instance?
