    Hi Jonathan

We had a leak in the bottom of ours in the end. Ours started working again after we had been on holiday and it made me think it had sorted itself out, but it stopped working again about 2 washes later.

If the machine is less than two years old, Neff will come out and fix it for nothing. Otherwise I think they charge about £65 to fix it.

Hope you get it working again.

Usually the leak comes from the motor impellor seal faulty. That would mean dirty water in base. If clean water in base then probably due to water filling system either inlet valve fault or overfilling of water measuring system. Hope that helps.

I have encountered this problem with my Bosch SGV4313. As per advice I took the machine out tipped it up and lots of water came out of the base after plugging it back in again it seems to work fine. Very Happy

    Hi there

Sounds like the machine is draining OK now, but if the pump is still running constantly you will need to remove the water from the base. You were in the right area, you need to disconnect the cable holder from the metal plinth panel and take off this panel to reveal the base compartment, where you can remove the excess water, and then the pump will stop running and the machine will now work normally.

It sounds scary but is a really simple job.

    Hope this helps.

    Paul

Really was easy, and yes as soon as we had removed about ten sponges of water the machine was fine. Saved our New Years Eve!!! Laughing Laughing

Hi there. I am a Neff/Bosch trained engineer. I can tell you exactly the problem.

Your outlet pump or pipe have got blocked (very common) and water has overflowed into the base.

This has activated a float switch to tell machine to pump out all time.

You need to remove the plinth of appliance and remove with sponge or syringe the water and clear outlet blockage and hey presto all will be fine. Neff will charge you £59.50 for the privilege!

I am now independent and charge £40.00 but you can do this easily.

    Regards Paul

Thanks for this help Paul - had this problem and followed your instructions, hardest part was getting the cupboard door off the outside of the dishwasher!.

We disconnected the pipe at the front and cleaned this out - full of gunk, also made a sucker to suck out the water with a washing up bottle and some pipe.

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

    Hi there,

I have an 8 year old Neff integrated dishwasher which just stopped working - water did not empty and digital display showed 31 on each programme - this has now changed and seems to be showing 51 except for when you pu it on rinse when it says 99. The programme appears to run but does not fill with water and you can hear humming from base of machine - is it likely just the pump has failed or control panel as well? any idea on cost as I wonder if I should cut my losses and buy a new one.

Thank you so much for the advice ! I couldn't get the screws off as I didn't have the right size driver, but I called a plumber friend and he opened the bottom like you said and used a wet-dry vac to suck out the rest of the water. The little red stick floated back to where it belonged , and it worked fine ! You saved me a $200 dollar repair bill. I am one happy wife, my husband was very pleased. Thanks a million ! Very Happy

    Hi Paul,

I read your reply regarding the Neff dishwasher continuously pumping and followed your instructions to relieve the problem.
It worked fine and so does the machine apart from the fact that it now won't bleep atthe end of the cycle. Before finding your blog I had been pushing a few buttons to try to stop it and wondered if you can disable the sound somehow? Any thoughts please?
