Hello all,
I'm asking for advice here but I'm not sure, in 2005, that anyone will understand what I am after but I'll give it a try.
Let me just say that I'm not interested in mobile phones -- I don't like them, I don't like talking on any phone.
However, I want to get one so my Dad can contact me in an emergency.
I don't want a built-in camera, alarm, torch, polyphonic multi-channel synthesizer with DSP, coloured LCD, "attractive looks" or any other marketing trick.
I want something I can switch on, that will ring like a normal telephone and allow me to talk to whoever is telephoning in an emergency. I want to be able to charge it up in the car if need be.
I don't want to pay monthly subscriptions -- I just want to pay for the phone and pay the cost of the call whenever I use it -- which will probably be less than once a year to make sure it's still working.
Is this still possible today? Any recommendations? The cheaper the better.
Thanks for any help. -
