I'm afriad i don't have much advice on prepaid credit cards. Though I would say you don't seem to b e able to get into debt using them as you can only pay with the money you have.

I was wondering if you could tell me a bit about your IVA. It's a route i'm considering taking but would be good to hear from someone who's 'been there and done it'. Any help you could give me would be great.

    Thanks

    Hi

I have an IVA in place (running for about 15 months now) all is going very well.

I have a prepaid American ExpressCard www.americanexpress.co.uk - this was via Nat West Bank (it was a freebie as I have a Gold Service Account). However you can go to American Express website and apply for one - they dont credit score you, but need to know your address for money laundering purposes. There are grey areas where and when you can use it - and you also have to load it with a minimum amount I think its about £250.00. I know you cant Sad use it to book or pre pay car rental or Hotels online.

We took it to America because Maestro does not work at the cash terminals in shops ect. Its ok but if your own bank give you a solo or debit card its just as good because although it looks like a credit card it only allows you to do certain transactions.

One last thing I have a Visa Electron Card Cooperative Bank brill if you want to use visa online it also seems to be recognised as a better card than Maestro - again this is a basic account with Coop bank (my branch were really friendly) This card was great on holiday too.

    Hope this helps x

I didn't think you'd get a card with an IVA, thanks for the knowledge
