Do you think it's possible that Dubledore and Severus staged the killing. It says that when Dumbledore's body was ready to be entombed there was smoke and Harry thought he caught a glimpse of the phoenix. Do you think in all that smoke Dumbledore's body was removed- leaving everyone to believe that he was encased in the tomb? Just a theory... -

I think that might be a bit too much to ask. I kept hoping he wasn't really dead...but I thought the same about Sirius Black.
I do think there's more to Snape's "treachery" than meets the eye. Why spend the whole series defending him even though he's mean to Harry? "Moody" was really nice to Harry and turned out to be evil. -

Definately an interesting thought. Though it does add up when considering the vaugely mentioned detail of Harry believing he saw a glimpse of a pheonix.
Im am currently working up my own theory on the whole situation - taking into account many small details such as the pheonix sighting. Once I have completed my thought process I shall post it. But there are many subtle hints and suggestions that could be very useful - or could mean absolutely nothing. I'LL POST BACK SOON! -

im thinking either
A) snape had to kill dumbledore, because dumbledore was very sick and was going to die soon anyway, and snape had made the unbreakable vow... if he wouldn't have killed dumbledore, they would both soon be dead... very interesting comment on the argument in the forest... i hadnt thought of that... but that supports this point too... im sure theres a lot of stuff that i've missed that could support this theory..
oh ya.. snape is also very skilled in occlumency, and snape and dumbledore could have had a little "mind conversation" of some sort before the ol 'severus... please'... severus please kill me? or severus please dont kill me? ahhh i want to know so bad..
or
B) snape and dumbledore staged the death.. there was so much information on nonverbal spells, in hpatHBP, as well as the fact that snape was very good at nonverbal spells... maybe when snape said 'avada kedavra' he nonverbally said a different spell... this supported by a couple things too... the spell that harry sees in his dreams of his parents dieing is described as a 'green flash' (im pretty sure that whenever the spell is described other timesits a green flash).. but when snape does it, its a green jet... also, it throws dumbledore into the air, whereas i'm thinking its supposed to just like.. kill u and leave u there..
its too much.. i can't wait.. i might just kill myself -

The problem with scenario B, Ilikecotton, is that it finally became clear in my mind that Dumbledore was really and truly dead when he was spotted snoozing in a picture frame in his old office, when Harry was there with McGonagall as Headmistress. In my reading of things, he wouldn't be there if he weren't dead- isn't that the case with those portraits? Or do they just have to be "former Headmasters/mistresses"? Not sure myself, but I think it is too much to hope that he is still alive. My interpretation of the proceedings thus far is that Harry has to be left entirely alone, without the protectors he has had in the past, in order to finally rise up in full-fledged power to fulfill his destiny and destroy Voldemort forever. -

I am 100 % Sure that Snape is on Dumbelore's side.
There are Many Reasons.
1) Dumbeldore, as we know, is A Very Brilliant Great Wizard.Every Decision He took till 6th part , Came out to be right.
People said that D'dore is Wrong in Recruiting Lupin, Hagrid , Moody , But , he was right.
2) D'dore knew that He needs to find out remaining Horcruxes, about which Voldemort only knows.
So he wants Snape to be with Voldemort to find out about other horcruxes.
And what could be better way of gaining confidence in Voldemort's eyes, than killing D'dore itself.
3) voldemort can never find out that Snape is actually on d'dores side coz snape is best on Occlumency.
4) I bet that Snape will be the Most Important person in 7th book, who will Help Harry to kill Voldemort.
he is a Great wizard who knows Dark arts very well
5) At the end of 6th book, before going back with death Eaters, Snape stops death eaters from killing Harry, & WARN Harry, that Harry needs to Improve his skills.
6) Snape always tried to Save Harry, He dont like Harry only coz of Bad Behaviour of Harry's dad towards Him.
7) I am Waiting desperatly for Book 7 to see Particularly what This Amazing & most Complex Character in Harry Potter series will do in Future.
5) And there are Possibilites that D'dore is still Alive, coz Avada Kadavra, Kills on Spot. -

I can’t believe I’m commenting on what was supposed to be a series of youth books. These are some of the best novels of any type written in years, so first I must congratulate Ms. Rowling.
I to failed to figure out that Snape was the Half Blood Prince, though when I found out I could have kicked myself. The clues were all there.
And, though I don’t want him to be, I also suspect that Snape will end up being on the “correct” side. I don’t like him, and I want him to be evil, but I’m all but sure he’ll be on Harry’s side.
Who will die in the next book? I have no idea at this point. Is there anything Ms. Rowling hasn’t told us about Dumbledore”s death? I would say almost certainly.
