Hey, I'm here to tell you all that Proactiv solution really worked for me! I had lots of pimples, especially on my forhead and along the sides of my nose. I started getting proactiv solution, but I didn't have much faith in it so at first I didn't use it every night, or I'd only use one of the three steps or something. But then I started to take it more seriously and after just one week my face was already looking better! Now, one month later, I am proud to say that I am pimple free, except for a few small ones left on my forehead, but they are unnoticable and easily covered with foundation. I can't tell you how great it feels to look in the mirror and see a clear face. So if anyone out there has problem skin, like me, you should give proactiv a try!! Very Happy

I would like to say that someone purchased for me the whole Proactive system (cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and mask) and it didn't work any better than cheap drugstore facial clensers. I guess it cleaned the dirt off my face, but it was a waste of money. And the mask smelled really, really bad.

I have used proactiv in the past and it worked ok, but my skin was always irrited and got all red and itchy. I'm now using ClearPores and the results are better and no more itching my face and back every few minutes.......

I've heard good things about ZenMED has anyone tried it or have an opinion of it.

    Thanks,

    Hey,

I posted before about Proactiv and about how it was rubbish.

I've tried EVERYTHING... and I FINALLY found something that actually works. I'm taking Tetracycline pills (I hope I spelled that right.) I can't believe how well it's working, I am SO relieved. I had acne constantly, and I've been using Tetracycline for a couple of months now... my scars are healing and my skin looks really great. It took a while to kick in but it's really working now. I use a Dove cleanser once a day, take Tetracycline twice a day, and my doctor also perscribed me a before-bed cream to put on my face. I'm really happy with the results. In most cases, topical treatments don't work because it's a bacterial thing. The pills are wonderful! I highly recommend talking to your doctor. I haven't experienced any side effects. I feel so great, I wear my hair out of my face all the time. My scars are even healing now that my skin isn't irritated! Yay!

Proactiv did not really work for me - and I tried it for a long time.

In fact, nothing was working. I am in my thirties and was very tired of spending all my money on Proactiv. Even the dermatologist's pharmaceutical treatments did not work- and they were super expensive. They just irritated my skin and caused allergic reactions. After extensive research on the internet I discovered that MY problem was deeper than skin care. I had an overproduction of hormones which caused my glands to produce too much sebum. My pancreas was producing too much of this particular hormone, too much for my liver to cleanse out of my system. Therefore my pores were constantly clogged causing painful bumps all over my face.

I discovered the benefits of Zinc Gluconate and how it could regulate my hormone overproduction. I began to take this zinc everyday with meals and my skin cleared up within days. It was amazing. Zinc Gluconate costs less than 5 bucks in Walmart. Now I use simple inexpensive products like Noxema and Sea Breeze to care for my skin. Also, I now use 2% saliclylic acid to help maintain my clear skin rather than benzoyl peroxide, which was too drying.

My Natropath Doctor also treated me for milk, cheese and coffee allergies which I did not realize that I had. He told me these things could also attribute to the acne. (If you can't get treated by a natropath, then you might want to try reducing your intake or eliminating these products from your diet if the zinc alone doesn't work well enough.)

Now that I know the real problem and solution, I suppose that any skin care regimen would work - even Proactiv, but why spend all that money if you don't have too.
