I am looking to buy a trumpet for my son *8th grade. We have been looking for a quality used trumpet on e-bay. We ran across someone selling brand new 2006 model Weimar trumpets at significant discount due to a bankruptcy. I can not find any info on this brand. Can you help us with a little information? I don't want to purchase an instrument that will frustrate him over the years. Thank you.

I have instructed band for 18 years and have played the trumpet, coronet, pocket trumpet and flugal horns for over thirty years.
I consider myself an expert on trumpets. I would consider myself an expert an judging a trumpets quality.
I currentenly own and play 3 Weimer instruments.
I have a 2004 Weimer that sounds and pays as well as my $2500.00 Bach. If I had known, I would have bought the Weimer first and not have made Bach Corporation wealthy.
By all means, buy the Weimer for your son. It should give him a lifetime of pleasure.

I just purchased one from Ebay and haven't received the trumpet yet. My son is 11 and in the 6th grade. The band director at his school is pushing going to a local music store and renting or buying one for them. He is not supportive at all of anyone buying or renting an instrument elsewhere. I would like to know where Weimar trumpets are manufactured and if they have a website? -

To the owners of the Weimar trumpet.... I also am considering one from ebay. Do you still believe these trumpets are of a high quality? Please give me your opinion after owning one. Much appreciated. -

I'll give you what information I have based on my experience. We purchased my son's Weimar trumpet on ebay in September 05. It plays good; however, it's my understanding from my son's band teacher that the material it is made of is not intended for repairs and may not withstand repairs. It's comparable to the trumpets you see in Walmart, etc. I tried emailing the guy on ebay asking who manufacturers this trumpet and he never would respond. We're pleased with the instrument for a beginning student; however, our plans are to purchase a new trumpet (Bach or something of that nature) in the fall if he continues to progress. We didn't want to put a lot of money in the instrument as a beginning student because we weren't sure of our son's interest. I hope this helps a little. If you have any other questions, please feel free to get back with me. -

I suggest looking this website for addtional information on what to buy for the first year student.

One question needs to be asked prior to purchasing any instrument, can it be repaired.
I purchase parts for repair instruments from all over the world and I have never seen any parts listed for this brand.
I also can not find a website for this manufacturer .. why is this ? one must wonder ...
The major brand suppliers all have websites, they want people to see and review their products, not hide them ...
I advise is to use caution when purchasing anything off a auction website.. -
