There are 6 of us in our family, and although this doesn't sound out of the ordinary, the amount of washing I have to do each week seems beyond the capabilities of every machine I've had.
My current Hotpoint has lasted 4 years, having had the bearings replaced once during that time.
I'd be grateful for feedback if you could recommend a washing machine that can take at least 6kg per load. At the moment the washer's in the kitchen under the worksurface, but I will consider moving the washer to the garage (cold fill only).
Thanks for any help you can give!

Quote: LG WM14225FD seems to be the best machine we have ever bought. I thought the last one one we had was good. It was a Siemens but parts were expensive.
The selling point for the LG WM14225FD is that it does not use a motor and belt system like previous washing machines so you don't get the usual problems like bushes and motors packing in.
The LG uses a system called direct drive where the drum is turned directly by the motor and the other result is a quieter machine. A bit dearer but highly recommended. -

Very Happy
It takes 7kg which is a load and a half, although it is a standard size. it was recommended to me by my washing machine repair man, who I was seeing a lot of till I bought one.
Only problem is persuading your husband not to put the whole load into the dryer at once! -

i know this may be a bit late, as i have just seen when you posted, but you cant beat one of those American top loading machines. they just dont wear out! i have one in my house in florida and its still going well after seventeen years of abuse by renters!.
i now have one here in england, they are usually sold under the whirlpool brand. they need space as they dont go under a worktop and are coldfill and hotfill if you have the plumbing.
they easily hold and wash well twice the load of a ordinary washer, and although they dont spin as fast, because the drum is so much bigger the water extraction is better, and things come out quite dry. i used to repair washers as a business and can tell you they are built to be used!
you can get a matching dryer if you want, just as big, but it wont work off a 13amp socket, needs its own supply.
see my post under rogerbanana whirlpool.
good luck, you wont be dissapointed, they will outlast four conventional front loaders. -

Personally I recommend Miele washing machines. They have to be the best on the market. I have a large family and our machine is constantly on the go. We have had our Miele for W487 for about 5 years now with not a single problem with it during this time. The wash results are fantastic, fabrics are well cared for, items come out of the machine practically dry and it is so incredibly quiet even on a full spin cycle. The newer models take a 6 kg load but Miele do offer even more robust machines (Little Giants) on their commercial website which take up to a 7kg load I believe.
Good luck! -

HI there
I have been known to create a huge amount of washing so I was looking for a large washing machine to handle it all.
I opted for a Hotpoint Aqualtis which can handle a huge 9kg load capacity at one time!
Hotpoint aqualtis
i hope that this helps -

Whirlpool do a fantastic 10kg semi pro washer HDWM 1100, I sell many of these and recommend them to anyone.
The size is larger than your avarage domestic machine but well worth the extra space needed.
Failing that...The Hoover vision 9kg range, very modern and stylish looks with all the top end spec 1600 spin etc etc
