hi all, i'm 21 yrs old, and i've had acne since i was like 15 or so.
they first appeared when i was still in high school. i've tried all kinds of stuff, creams, gels and only god knows what. i used all kinds of normaderm's stuff, klimicine gels, bla bla bla.... the problem with acnes would go away for a few days but no more than that.

so now i'm 21 yrs old, and have been going to this dermathologist for about a year now. i must say it was definately a progress, but never something that would permanently get rid of acnes.

the last time i visited the dermathologist, she perscribed me some Sebium AKN with fruit acids for morning usage, a soapless Avene gel for washing my face..morning usage. that was it. i must say this was the best result. but besides that i was also using an antibiotic that consists of that thing called minocycline i think. it always helps me, but not for the little, white acnes that show up on the surface of the skin.

before a few weeks she perscribed me something new for the summer as my skin becomes more oily. in the morning, i use some cream with A.H.A. acids (fruit acids), it should help the oil go off. I use it before going to bed aswell, and i also put some kind of liquid stuff to help the skin not get so oily. but every time i wake up in the morning, my skin is as oily as hell! and as for the minocycline she told me to stop taking these pills because it's not good to be taking them for longer than 3 months. i wash my face with water a few times a day, i sleep on my back so that my face doesn't rub against the pillow.

the acnes have gone a bit worse again, and i'm getting quite hopeless here. she'll perscribe me again something that will work for a shorter period, a few weeks, but it will most probably become as bad as before.

i'm thinking of ordering that evolution-X vitamin B5 stuff including all these gels. I just want your opinion on that. how many of you have tried that? do you think it's a waste of money? cuz i'm gonna spend some money again on the stuff that my dermathologist will perscribe me so i thought why not give it a try.

    thanx

I'm 22 and have had acne since I was 12. Three years ago, I purchased a GNC bottle of Vitamin B5 and took it three times a day along with taking Nature's Cure twice a day. B5 really seemed to make my skin and hair feel softer, however, it is no permanent fix. Confused I still got acne and the pills were expensive to me for the results I was getting (or NOT getting). The people who recommended me B5 swore by it, but to me, it's nothing different. Just a temporary fix to an annoying skin problem.
