Get This...
I ordered two phones from the Carphone Whorehouse both phones on the 'Three' network.
The promotion I signed up for included 'free content' (logos, ringtones etc) for the first month of the contract.
My son downloaded a shed load of this 'free' content. First bills roll in.
Both bills asking for £400 +
Apparently, the Carphone Whorehouse made a promotional error, and the downloads weren't 'free'. When I contacted the 'CPW' they admitted their error, unfortunitly this admission was over the phone, so I have no proof. However as usual, whenever I sign up for anything involving money over the internet, I rip the site, and archive it along with order confirmation emails. So I have a site rip containing the promotional error. They have since corrected the typo.
The Carphone Whorehouse insist 'Three' are responsible for billing, and because of 'data protection' laws they can't enter into communications with 'Three' about account errors
(I gave both 'Three' and 'CPW permission to discuss this dispute, neither have !)
'Three' insist I pay the balance, and that I take the matter up with the carphone Whorehouse
I continued to pay for line rental on both phones, but refused to pay for the so called 'free' content.
'Three' terminated the service on both phones. So 'Three' have taken line rental on two phones for 6 weeks without providing any service on those phones.
I have offered to meet with representatives from both '3' & 'CPW' to discuss this dispute, neither have responded.
I have made it clear from day one that the charges for the 'FREE' content (and any charges added for not paying these charges) will NOT be paid.
I have informed 'Three' that this matter has gone on long enough, and since neither '3' or the 'CPW' are willing to help resolve this matter, I'm going to allow this dispute end up in court.

i am getting charged line rental on a phone i dont have, never wanted and never asked for.
three were given my details from maxx ltd, a mobile phone provider who registered a phone in my name, never sent me a phone and refuse to cancel it because i didn`t send it back,!! this is the phone i never recieved. three wont cancel the account because i don`t have a deactivation code from maxx ltd,and you guessed it maxx ltd wont give me one because i didn`t send the none existant phone back. i`m just going round in circles with no one willing to listen or help me.three insist i will be charged for the monthly line rental, so i`ve cancelled the direct debit,i know they will try and get it some other way.
whats more annoying is i allready have a phone and account from three so why would i want another one. i wish i had not started anything with three and when my contract is up will NEVER go with them again. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Go straight to Ofcom - do not pass go, use them to collect your missing £££.
I did and Carphone Whorehouse have asked me to fax them my bill so they can pay me all the money they owe me.
Its amazing what Ofcom can do.
