Has any body stayed at the Bel Air Hotel in Nidri on Lefkas island. I can't seem to find any reviews on the internet or many pictures.
Has any one been to Nidri? whats that like?
I would also like to know if any one has any suggestions for places to visit, we have car hire for our second week and suggestions for places to go would be most appreciated
Thank you for your help.

Haven't stayed at that place but Nidri is lovely
, everything you need in one place. A walk along the harbour each evening is all you need for great places to eat and to book any boat trips you want to take. If you want a lovely breakfast go to th Cafe Caprice . -

Just come back from Bel Air Nidri for my 2 week honeymoon! Been to Nidri loads before, as its a family favorite, and was first time I stayed at Bel Air. Its lovely, and even better with a lovely swim pool and air con! The sisters that work there are lovely and friendly.
Suggestions to visit by car....
1) Go to Lefkada town, its good and cheaper to shop there for gifts etc. The pedestrianised bit is from opposite the bridge onto the island, and goes down into the heart of the town.
2) Any of the beeches down the left hand side of the island, Kathisma, Porta Katsiki etc. They are lovely and sandy, and Porta Katsiki is known as the 6th best beach in the world.
3) Vassilliki is windsurf town, as on south of island, is great for the wind sports. Good if its a really hot day, and you want to sunbathe, but need the breeze to stay in the sun!
4) on the way to Vassiliki, there are a couple of turns off the main road to the left, that go to Sivota, and (cant remember the other one!) but they are lovely little villages on the sea, and very quiet! Worth a visit just for a drink or something!
The whole island is great, and is suitable for all ages.! 9 out of 10 people you meet out there, have been to nidri before, and say they will be back again!
Recommend a good place to get excellent English breakfast is "Poppies" (right next to the church on the main road of Nidri). Owned by lovley couple Kate and Mick Adams from Southend who moved out there this year. Proper tea bags, and proper bacon and sausage with the breakfast! Thoroughly recommended! If you see them, they will five you advise and recommend places to go!
Have a great time.. Im sure it wont be your last visit to Nidri!

We went to poppies a couple of times and had few drinks in the evening and they were wonderful and friendly.
i am so pleased you had a lovley time and we will definately be going back next year if only for a week.
