Right, all this about the CDI, is wrong, it doesnt restrict the revs as such, it retards the ignition and will make the piston fire more degrees From TDC then it can. so the compression is lower because the fuel is detinated in a larger space, hence it will go slower, and the highrer up the rev range you go the futher away from TDC (top dead center) the piston will fire, but it still revs. The restrictor is there for a reason, there single cylinder 50cc two strokes, theyre not GP bikes, its never gunna do a great speed, if you start messing about with the CDI then your down alot on reliability, basically your peds gunna go bang easier. They wont restrict the CDIs heavily either, because in the countrys peds are made they dont have to be restricted, over here theyll change the exhaust and place possibly a washer in the variator, hence them being able to sell them on the british market, so stop with all this "mine does 60 but me mates does 39468MPH" its all rubbish

no its none of that. iv recently had mine done. the ristrictor is on the variator. you take the variator off and on the back there is a plate. this unscrews and you take it off. be careful because there are the rollers in side. these will look like they will fall out but be assured that they dont. the plate jst stoppes them from pushing the variator even further out. now that the plate is off they can push the variator out even more. my ped went from 30 to 50 from jst doing this. stick a racing exhast on it and well your well off. but if you dont want to do this then there is one more small restrictor on it on the exhast. its the enging side of the silencer. its jst a washer that needs taking out. it dnt make much of a difference but its still there!!
