Hi all,
I'm very much new to this forum. I have a wavy hair. I want to make it straight. I've no idea about the straightners. I was just looking through the posts and came across the word GHD straightener....what is that..??
I was looking at the cosmetic shop for the straightners and found so many varieties that I was confused as of which one is the best..
There were some ranging between 170-250W heat with 20-25 heat settings. Which ones are the best..?? Is the ceramic coated ones good or the metal plates one..??
Also, how does the whole process work...?? Is there any styling product that needs to be applied before straightening the hair..?? Or it has to be done on wet hair/dry hair..??
Please help me..with some suggestions on this topic .
Thankyou very much

Hi
If you have particularly stubborn/frizzy/curly/thick hair then it is definitely worth spending the money on a pair of GHD's (in normal or wide/salon). These are very good and do an excellent job. The key feature of straighteners is how hot they get - 200C plus is best to straighten stubborn hair. Also the itme they take to heat up is important. In the old days they took about 3 hours(!) but GHD's take less than a minute. I have tried the new non-GHD glass style straighteners and don't rate them.
Hope this helps

Hiya,
T3 straighteners are honestly amazing. I have thick, curly, dry, out of control, frizzy stubborn hair. I have tried both GHDs and T3s but in my opinion T3’s are far better.
GHD’s gave me poker straight hair which I was so happy about, but then my hair began to dry out and become frizzy as I had a lot of breakage.
T3’s give me the poker straight results like the GHDs but make my hair very smooth, sleek and in great condition without any frizzyness or damage! Also with t3’s my hair stays straighter for much longer than GHD’s. Like GHD’s they also heat up to 200+ and take less than a minute to heat. I could go on for hours about T3’s they’re great, all my friends that have tried them love them too and regret buying ghds! They are definatley worth the money, I would pay double if I had to.
About using T3’s, I personally do not use anything on my hair before using them, if you feel the need to you can buy a smoothing cream or hair iron spray from boots etc but I doubt you will need too. T3 straighteners say straighten from either dry or slightly damp hair (as do ghd’s I think). Also t3 have just brought out the new t3 wet to dry Straightner which saves you the hassle of blow drying/waiting for your hair to dry then straightening your hair, you just do it straight from wet, I will be ordering them soon!
I bought mine from www.salonlines.co.uk with a 24 month guarantee (they also sell a lot of other straightners). You can also buy them from T3’s official website which is http://www.t3hair.com/ ( which has a handy guide of how to get great results from Straightners in the ask john (from C4’s the salon) section). For more info on t3’s there are reviews on this site and on both of the websites above.
Hope this helps

Hi there.
I have to agree with Beauty is Deep Within about the T3s. I own a pair, having bought some after selling my GHDs, and I am very glad I did. I would also recommend Salonlines to buy them from. I could go into loads of detail about them, but I wrote a review which is marked as EXPERT in the review section on T3's, so you should definately have a read.
I don't think the site Beauty mentioned is the official site, since T3's are made by Hairart and are distributed by a company in Scotland (SDL Hair) who have their own website for selling other Hairart products. I would wholeheartedly recommmend Salonlines.
If in doubt, give Salonlines a call. You can call up their manager Jonathan, and ask advice on hair straighteners. They do also recommend the T3 over the GHD, and for a few quid more with a year's extra guarantee, I think they'd be well worth considering. My hair is only slightly wavy, like yours, but the professional straighteners are definately worth the money!
