rd 1070 reformat mem prob

I need alot of help. my rca lyra mp3 player kinda of messes up for the first time.i put some music on it that i guess messed it up so it would just freeze up. so i deleted all the files on it. yet it still shows that i only have 35 MBS left of memory and that the other 78 is used up... im using musicmatch 8.0 and it wont let me reformat or fix the unshown used files. plzzz some1 help me
