    Hello

Could do with some advice if you think you can help. Here's my problem.

I took out a contract with 3 in August this year. Basically my November bill had £30 worth of downloads on that I definitely had not made from my handset. I had for example 10 Ministry of Sound ringtones downloaded to my handset within 10 minutes. This just did not happen, my phone is never out of my possession. I have spoke with their call centre (back office) several times, have posted letters to them, and faxed them, and also sent several emails explaining they have screwed up and I refuse to pay them. I have cancelled my direct debit and am now only paying the standard expected monthly fee over the phone. They are just not willing to help.

They have been absolutely useless in calling me back, in fact they have not called me at all. Also, I have had no reply to my letters.

Strangely, they told my that one of the many downloads was actually a mistake on their part and have refunded this to me. So they have actually admitted that what you get on your bill can be a mistake by the 3 billing department!!

3 are an absolutely shocking company, both in the service they provide and their ability to provide customer service. Anyone out there thinking of taking up one of their what seem to be cheap offers, DON'T!!!

If you have any advice or experience on this subject, I would be very interested in hearing from you.

    Pete

Its the biggest and most awful mobile phone company ever. I took out my contract with them in September. And I wish I didn't, BIG MISTAKE.
On my handset I cant even use video messaging as 3 have said its not available yet.. Then why advertise that it and at the time tell me I can use it when I took out the contract? They told a big lie to me. I am cancelling my direct debit too as I feel I should not pay for the disgraceful service they give me, the customer service people just dont care, I sent several complaints only for them to pass me on to someone else then on to someone else ect.. Its a joke.
The signal is awful, the service is rubbish. 3 are just a useless company and id urge anyone who wants to take out a contract with them to go somewhere else.
Dont go with 3, stay well crear of them.

The above is pretty similar to my own experience. Sadly some Internet forums about phones are nothing more than promotional tools for mobile dealers and some of the information is less than honest as a result.

I know the ones below have no commercial links and have gained some useful advice there and on this excellent site.

The sooner the 3 network is bought by another company or closed the better for all concerned.

three are useless, no offence but when i call the cucstomer service to sort out one of my many problems with three i always get someone who struggles with the english language, they are a joke, my phone was broke and three gave me a time and date on four occasions for collection...gues what guys...nobody turned up to collect it, they always seem to send you to other departments, ive never seen such a disgraceful company in my life, the reception suddenly goes as soon as you try calling someone, the phones always brake, i urge anyone thinking about going with three not to do it.

Oh my god - I can't believe I didn't find this forum before I got into a contract with this truly appalling company! I can't even promis to be brief - I have to get this off my chest! Where shall I start? This company has practically given me a stomach ulcer, run up a huge bill and charged me for the privilege. Having received the phone and used it for only 8 days it died after charging (it just wouldn't switch on). I called them to report & they said they would collect it for repair (apparently it is not policy to give you a replacement handset to use in the meantime - as T-mobile do). They collected but made me wait in all day for this collection not even being able to specify morning or afternoon collection(good job I can work flexible hours). After 5 days with no phone I telephoned them and after having been cut off 5 times (no - I am not exaggerating!) they told me they were waitng for me to pay for the repair since they say I dropped the phone - which I most certainly did not. They would not let me cancel my contract as I threatened to do since I had gone 12 hours over the 14 day grace period and I had no choice but to pay for them to fix the damn thing! After another week they sent the phone back - without repairing it -claiming I had not paid!! They collected the phone again (yes - I had to wait in - AGAIN!) and 'repaired' it and returned it another week later. The original fault had indeed been fixed but a different one had miraculously appeared! They have collected the phone AGAIN and I am waiting for them to send me a new handset which I have been told they may or may not charge me for!!! Meantime, I have paid two months worth of contract (last month and this month - £60!) and £55 repair for a phone I did not break but cannot prove I did - yet I have had the phone for only 8 days total! This company is a joke! If anyone knows how I can either get out of this ridiculous contract or get compensation I would lurrrvvv to know! Help! There are not enough smiley's in the world for me to conceptualize how stressful this has been! This company is a health risk!

Yes i know what you mean. I took a contract out with three around april this year. They said that the reception was as good as o2 . No Chance the reception is TERRIBLE, with the contact i got a MOTOROLA V975, its a good looking silver flip fone but do not be deceived by its appearance. The phone kept crashing and information disappearing all the time. And now i am just after getting it stolen, and didnt have it insured, as three dont do insurance but they are looking me 2 pay for a new handset. NO CHANCE!! ive just ordered d600 ON o2 and am going to cancel my contract. NEVER TAKE OUT A THREE CONTRACT ANYONE THAT READS THIS.

Well I don't really know where to start when trying to describe my experience on 3. Both myself and my dad decided to get a 3 contract-primarily tempted by the cheap deals on offer and the promise of one of the newest phones out. Well my dads phone broke within 5 days of having it-turned out to not have all the software on it and a replacement had to be sent. I was more fortunate and my phone was ok for the first six months, well since then the only way I can make a call is too switch the phone off before hand and then turn it back on in order to get signal. If I receive more than 1 message in 5 minutes my phone cannot cope and crashes. My dads phone broke again 3 months before the end of his contract, when he rang to complain his call was answered by Mr Grumpy working for 3-if you dont like your job dont do it, dont give us your bad attitude when we ring to report a genuine fault. After receiving a replacement, which also broke. He was then on to his third phone only to not be able to get signal on this one. My dad then decided to cut his losses and got a contract on o2 with a phone that actually worked. I only have 1 month left on my contract and the day that contract ends I will be celebrating the end of my contract with one of the worst network providers I have ever experienced. Im sorry to rant on but I feel that everyone should avoid this network like the plague it may seem ok at first but its bound to go wrong sooner or later...
