As far as I know, Plasma is suited best for home entertainment - films television programmes, whilst LCD is more for computers, animation and games.

Actually a lot depend on the size of screen you want. the fastest lcd response times are currently about 8-9ms plasma is 4-5ms so on a larger screen fast moving objects get less blur on a plasma.

that said an LCD is good to about 37" try Toshiba 37WLT66....and should last longer than a plasma. plasm also has a glass front so has more reflection problems!

Hope this helps....depends if you watch sports really...

Both Plasma and LCD are getting much better. LCD panels sizes are going up to compete with Plasma.

The best way is to actually view the set at the local retailer without knowing if the set is plasma or LCD before you view it. Ultimately it is your site that is most sensitive and you should base your judgement on that. View the display from all angles: directly in front, from the sides.

One of the things you want to look for is that it has multiple HDMI inputs since most HD sources ( receivers, DVD players, video game consoles) will output true HD via the HDMI connection. 1 HDMI input is simply not enough.

You can expand the number of HDMI ports by using an external. HDMI switcher This will allow you to connect multiple HDMI sources.
