canon camcorder repair

I have a canon MV400 with a loading problem, it started when the tape was rewound to the start the camera would ask for the tape to be ejected, some times the tape was wrapped around a roller. I woud free the tape, the camera would work fine. Now when it asks to be ejected on reloading the tape the load mechanism will not go fully in. I have just started transferring video on to dvd disks using my pc with Ulead video software, I don't know if this could have caused any damage? I have been quoted upto £165 for a repair can any recomend a more cost effective solution.

Maybe in your case, new camcorder would be more effective solution that to repair the old one. Just make sure that it supports media that you recorded on the old one.
