Get the no disk error on my own toshiba sd-2900 as well as my neighbor's toshiba. Although they are different models, they are both around 2 years old. Have no problem playing same disks on polaroid purchased last december.

It seems odd, though, that I burned an entire 25 pack of memorex disks without this being an issue. Is it possible that the problem is with the fugi disks that I'm using now?

    Thanks,
    dk

yes it is the fuji disk and the toshiba 2900 was not really disigned to play home burned disc. doing so can strain the pickup assy, and cause it to turn up its gain and burn the laser out..I'm a dvd tech for Bestbuy and have worked on many many 2900's second generation dvd players don't has this problem. unlike sony the toshiba pickups are expensive around 111 dollars not worht fixing..however the new toshibas are a very nice unit and plays anything..
