Yes that WILL work for most Sony DVD players , BUT there is usually a reason for those fuses to blow, or any other fuse to blow, would you put a penny in YOUR fuse box???
Any way the fuaes blow , because the laser is drawing to much power for whatever reason.
And are there to protect the you and the digital board a laser drawing to much powr can be harmful to your health and be a fire hazard.. So that kind of info is bad iinfo. I would be more likely to replace those fuses and see how long they last rahter then endanger myself and family.....I think Sony would agree, and should send them your fix so they might post their reply...I think you would like that.... -

Have a DVP-S360 that displays "NO DISC" but only on certain discs. All store bought. e.g. bough a box set of DVDs; disc 1 repeatedly displays "no disc" Disc 2 works just fine. The disc 1 does work in my cheap Philips Magnavox player in the bedroom. Anybody help with this? Thanks... -

The best thing is to throw that fuc**ng player throught the closed window into the garden in front of your house.
I will never buy a Sony Product anymore. As you said, some cheap players work more fine than this one. -

you may order the pickup though electronix.com
the part number is A-6062-397-A Generic number is
KHM 220AAA it is not to bad a job for the layman
But it is VERY ESD sensitive I do believe they supply directions for installation if not sned me you email address and I will forward you the service manual
Dave, would you kindly email me the S360 service manual. I want to have a go at mine, which seems to be reading fewer and fewer discs even though other players read them. Not much to lose at this point ...
Thanks,
KTC

Hi,
I'm experiencing exactly the same problems "no disk" and error "c 13:00" with my sony dvp-s735d (1,600 operating hours).
I have checked the controller board but it has to be a different version as it does only hold one fuse (f401) which is ok.
So I suppose I will have to replace the pickup unit (KHM220AAA).
Does anybody know whether there are sub-types of the laser unit KHM220AAA or whether this one type is used in different players (dvp-s335, s336 and 725d).
Does anybody have any experience in replacing the unit or any service manual which could help me in replacing the unit as I have understood that the laser unit is quite ems sensitive. Thanks in advance.

Dave,
I'm glad i've found you. I have a DAV-S300 with this problem too so can you answer me a few of questions.
1. Can I still pick up the laser unit from a supplier for replacement by myself and if so where would I get the instructions to do so?
2. If I can't get that unit I was thinking of buying another Sony home cinema system from ebay, say a S550 or a S880. Will these units eventually display the same problem ?
3. I see from the details of the class action in the US (posted earlier in the forum) that there is a whole list of models mentioned. I take it I should avoid these units but should I buy ANY Sony home cinema system at all after you comment that some "no brand" units are more robust that Sony systems.
Cheers
Craig
