Help with my multi region Toshiba SD220e dvd playe

I got from amazon 2 years ago, it was already chipped etc. Woke up this morning and now it will only play US dvds, NTSC. I get a message saying 'not NTSC' whenever i put a disc in, region 2. I don't understand why this has happened? it was working fine 2 days ago when watching superman!!I have know idea on how to switch it back!!! can anyone help? asap.
