Looking for some help on this issue. Currently system set to Headphone mode and can't reset to normal setting. Only giving me 2 options, Headphone(2 Ch.) or Headphone theater. Have tried all the obvious solutions using sound field button on remote, even tried reseting system to no avail. Any help would be greatly aprreciated as I ain't getting any sound at the moment.

We are currently experiencing the same problem with a sound only being played via headphones. We have spoken to Sony UK who say it is not a recognised problem and cannot suggest any way of fixing it ourselves. They have said they will pay a percentage of the repair charge as it is now out of its year warranty but is less than 2 years old. However in the current climate it is cheaper to buy a new DVD player. If anyone has any luck fixing this problem please let us know!

We still haven't had any success fixing the problem - Sony refuse to admit any responsibility. We have found other people on other websites with the same problem and they suggested pressing the back of the player where the speakers plug in - we have done this and the sound comes back, but as soon as you let go, it goes away again. Please report this problem to Sony if you get it, hopefully enough complaints might prompt them to do something about it.

How much was the repair, I have spoken to the place I bought it from an they said they would repair it. I have also been referred to an authorised Sony repair centre and they were gonna charge £60 for the privilege of looking at it, there would obviously be more cost on top of that. I'm trying to weigh up just buying another one as there isn't gonna be much difference in cost at the end of it...

Was no cost for repair as a friend of a friend who works in Sony did it as a favour.
