hello i have had a very simular problem and it appears that most of it is due to electrical faults. sometimes the lights work and sometimes they dont! i know its not the bulbs cus they only go out for seconds. i am still working on trying to find out how to stop this! -

I have a 1.2 petrol, 94 reg corsa.
Recently the engine has not been delivering heat to the passenger compartment.
Today the engine temp shot up everytime I braked or stopped with the engine running. The temp fell again when I moved off. Still no heat from engine.
Any idea? -

Hello.
With reference to the timing chain. I got my Corsa Design 53 plate second hand, just 18 months old. Shortly after i got it, it developed a rattle and l later found out it was the timing chain. I argued it with Vauxhall that it should be convered under the warrenty but they refused to cover it so i had to pay for it. It cost over £175. Now its done, the tapping has completly stopped. Does urs tap very badly when its sat on tick over? it may be a common fault as mine went after not having the car for long.
Let me know what you think.
Sarah.

Heyall! I've never been lucky when it comes to cars so I shouldn't have been surprised when my second hand Corsa began giving me problems days after buying it. It's a 51 REG (late 2001) 1.7Dti and it has 2 problems, which I think are related.
Hit about 75mph, and the engine warning light comes on, and I lose nearly all turbo boost. Turn off the engine and restart it, the light goes away and the turbo comes back
The other issue the that damn smoke when the turbo is whirring away. If I keep it under 2k revs (ie before the turbo kicks in) there's no smoke. When you drive it normally, every gear change it's like the car is puffing on some massive cuban cigar. It's not blue/white smoke, so I know it's not oil or anything, it's a greyish/blackish smoke.
Now, is it a turbo issue? What's going on here? What's it gonna cost? I suspect I will have to sell some organs or sommat.
Advice anyone?
Thanks -

Hi my friend has a Corsa B 1.2l we went for a drive up the road and the engine warning light came on so i pulled over and turned off the car. When i turned on the ignition the engine warning light was flashing and the oil warning light was on when i tried to start it it would not go and the engine was sqealing like hell. So i turned the car off again and back on it started no problem and no lights were on can anyone help please.
