    Has anybody managed to hack this machine - or do you know of a form who will chip it or perform a sofware upgrade?

    I took the machine to a firm in Tottenham Court Road and managed to convince them to try the standard Toshiba unlocking software. they eventually agreed to try it, at my risk, and guess what it owrked perfectly! the machine is now Region 0 and plays everything! Check out www.askdirect.com - i think they will do it by post also. Hope this works for you also

    Can you not mail it to them? depends on how much you paid for the player, they charged £40 (€55) for the region free. Why not drop them a mail and see what they say - good luck
