HP Announces PDA With Seamless GPRS / Wi-Fi Roamin

HP today unveiled a new line of iPAQ handheld devices. The lineup includes the h6315, the company's first handheld with built-in mobile phone capabilities. The h6315 is also one of the first devices to include three types of radios: GSM/GPRS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. The unit will be available for T-Mobile USA, and includes special software that allows the device to automatically use the faster Wi-Fi data connection when in range of a T-Mobile HotSpot, and automatically fall back to T-Mobile's GPRS network at other times. The h6315 will be available from T-Mobile later this summer.
